Sachiko took Francis Ching's design drawing class as an undergraduate art major. She loved the class but never thought she would pursue architecture. It was after she graduated and interned at Habitat for Humanity in Seattle that she made the decision to come to the BAC.
Sachiko considers herself lucky to have two very different cultures to relate to. The hardships that she has faced growing up and adjusting to her surroundings made her a keen observer and listener. As a designer, she thrives in turning her clients’ ideas into a space true to their voice while discovering new dimensions and possibilities during the collaboration.

She says, "I’m grateful for Richard Griswold and Jovi Cruces who have done a lot to teach me how to record my thoughts into a sketchbook. My sketchbook means a lot to me, and to be recognized for it is a big deal."
